One way to patch a hole in copper is by brazing over the hole. This becomes more difficult when bonding a hole in aluminum tubing, or when tubing is located in an area where a torch might result in damage to equipment or fire.

PATCH-RITE is an anaerobic bonding system for patching holes in copper and aluminum tubing without the use of heat, solder, or brazing materials. The key to success of the PATCH-RITE patch is the patch cavity and the bonding gel. The cavity results in a 0.020 acrylic bond over and around the hole which will withstand a minimum of 1200 psi. The second important part of the PATCH-RITE system is the bonding gel. The gel permits the cavity to be filled and remain filled until the clamp is applied and the bond is starved of air. Once the bond is starved of air, the gel turns into a solid acrylic bond over and around the hole.

Applications for PATCH-RITE patches include the plumbing, HVAC/R, automotive, and chemical industries.
