The original product Jackson Industries introduced was an specialty anaerobic formulated to bond copper tubing to copper and brass fittings and couplings; thus the brand name Just-For-Copper (hereafter referred to as JFC). JFC solder-less bonding is available in two sizes ideally suited for the do-it-yourself (DIYER) plumbing and home repair market. JFC solder-less bonding requires preparation by 60-grit sanding cloth (see JFC SUPPORT GROUP PRODUCTS).
Requests from professional plumbers for a solder-less bond with a longer set-time, a higher temperature rating, and a color so that it could be visually seen if a joint had been bonded, resulted in the introduction of the Just-For-Copper Pro (hereafter referred to as JFC PRO) solder-less bonding specifically for the professional plumbing market.
JFC Solder-less bonding does not repair hole, leaks, or bursts in copper tubing. However, Jackson Industries manufacturers products that do repair holes, leaks, and bursts in copper tubing. For holes, use PATCH RITE patches -- a fast way to permanently repair holes in copper and aluminum tubing. For leaks and bursts, use JFC Epoxy Putty. With JFC Epoxy Putty you can repair bursts of several inches in length and leaks of all types.
